During the 1st Tainiothiki meeting (19/11/2011) the possibility of the Polypolis social game adaptation to be played with real life players (individuals that live/work in the Tainiothiki adjacent area) has been discussed. The public playing in the Tainiothiki premises has been scheduled for May 2012. The open call for participation in its design/preparation will be launched in February 2012. The project Polypolis_Tainiothiki inaugurates SARCHA's collaboration with the Greek Film Archive F.




A SARCHA working team will be formed following an open call and will undertake the design of the Polypolis_Roma version for the game in the context of the Urban Transcripts workshop in Rome http://news.urbantranscripts.org The event is held under the auspices of the Embassy of Greece in Rome. The Polypolis social game video, created by SARCHA ©2011, will be presented at the Hellenic Technical Chamber’s conference “Public space –wanted” at Olympion cinema, Thessaloniki, Greece, on Saturday October 22, 2011, 11.10-11.30. Polypolis social game was conceived and created as a testing ground for SARCHA’s CCR: CityCommonResource (2010-2011) research theme and the CCR Athens Gerani 2010 pilot study. The game is currently in a state of development.




SARCHA will launch an open call for the design of Polypolis_Thessaloniki, during the Polypolis video presentation at the Public Space conference in Thessaloniki (see announcement in this section). The aim of the call is to invite those interested to work as a SARCHA group and adapt the Polypolis game to the specific city resources condition in Thessaloniki. SARCHA was one of the seven teams shortlisted among the 56 entries submitted at The Resourceful Architect open call. The competition was organized by the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) the Architecture Foundation and the sponsors Austin-Smith: Lord and Land Securities. The final presentation will take place in London at RSA on the day of ideas (18/5/2011). SARCHA’s entry will feature at the Architectural Journal 12/5 issue. CCR – ΠKΠ Athens Gerani 2010, SARCHA’s pilot project will be officially presented during the one day conference organized by the Hellenic Ministry for the Environment. The conference entitled Another City is Possible will take place at the Benaki museum (138 Peraios street, Athens) on March 15, 2011 at 13.00.
